Spray Foam Myths

Spray foam is bad for my health

The Chemicals in spray foam become inactive after 24 hours and are scientifically undetectable.

Spray foam is new and unproven

Spray foam installation is just starting to gain popularity but actually has been around since 1930 and was used as industrial and refrigeration insulation beginning in the 1960's

Foam board insulation is just as good

Actually the two are very different. Foam board has been proven to be far less efficient than spray foam. One reason being that when you install foam board there can be lots of gaps and screw holes that allow air to seep through. Also Foam board can store air pockets and can collect condensation and can even fall out of place causing the foam board to be virtually useless.
